Hari Hara Veera Mallu Struggles: There was great anticipation for Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veeramallu (HHVM) to storm the box office. With the announcement that he is now the Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan’s comeback on the big screen was going to make a huge buzz. Now, contrary to all expectations, the film has completely failed to seal deals with major territories, such as Vizag, Nellore, Nizam, Bangalore, and Chennai, which raises serious concerns in trade circles.
Although HHVM is a festival commercial film that would appeal largely to fans, major distributors, and production houses, such as Dil Raju, Mythri Movie Makers, and Asian Sunil, seems to have given a miss in acquiring the film’s rights. The major reason appears to be the price tag. According to reports, producer A. M. Ratnam demanded ₹50 crore for just the Nizam area, which most would consider unrealistic in the current market.
At the moment, no deal has been inked in these big markets. Though the film had been in the making for almost two years and had a lot of emotional weight for fans, buyer confidence was missing, and that has put everything on hold in the business side. Instead of lowering the price, Ratnam is apparently gearing up for a self-release for the film in the Nizam region.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Struggles: Hesitation could possibly arise out of different factors-the market instability. Uncertain post-COVID recovery of the box office, long-winded production delay, and Pawan Kalyan’s political commitments. If all the elements are together for a blockbuster, the bigger one will be the mismatch between demand and price.
If this issue is not resolved soon enough, then HHVM will start losing its momentum. Both from the business aspect and amongst its audience.
