Prithviraj Sukumaran Vs Kajol: As the release date of the movie Sarzameen approaches, curiosity is rife not only about its powerful storyline. But about powerful casts that can be found featured in the movie. Sarzameen is a political thriller pulled by Bollywood’s A-list actress Kajol and Malayalam stalwart Prithviraj Sukumaran. But the question that has fans buzzing is: Who got paid more for their role in Sarzameen?

Kajol’s Fees

Kajol, a Bollywood actress with over two decades of experience in the industry. It is one of the few top actresses in the country. She usually cost a lot for her projects. For Sarzameen, although she has not openly given out the figure, talks around the industry suggest that it is anywhere between ₹4 and ₹7 crores. Depending on the budget and production houses.

Since the film Sarzameen is produced by one of the biggest studios in the country, Dharma Productions, it can be assumed that Kajol would have made a very high-end deal with them, as even conservative estimates put her earnings at around ₹6 crores for the film.

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Approach

Contrarily, Prithviraj Sukumaran has always openly declared, “I never charge a fixed fee for my acting. I would rather share the profits. If the film does commercially well, I am paid for it.” He has followed the same procedure for many other high-profile projects, including Empuraan.

Had Prithviraj opted for the acting fee mode, then his asking price from what is suggested from the deals in pan-Indian films like Salaar. He would easily range between ₹3 to ₹7 crore.

However, it is highly likely that for Sarzameen, he opted not to take a fix payment again and go the backend profits route.

Observation: Who Received the Higher Payment?

Kajol, thus, received a relatively clear initial payment of about ₹5–7 crores.

Prithviraj, on the other hand, may earn more overall if the film performs well, thanks to his profit-sharing agreement.

So while Kajol may have won the paycheck war. Prithviraj could win the profit battle depending on how the movie does at the box office and in streaming.
