Kantara Chapter 1 Wraps Shooting: Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 wrapped up its enormous 250-day shooting schedule, and now it has just over two months until its big theatrical release. Rishab Shetty directs and Vijay Kiragandur produces it under the Hombale Films banner. The film is a much-anticipated prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara. The makers celebrated this achievement by releasing a powerful making video right at 10:35 AM today-a sneak peek into the film’s tough yet spiritual journey.

The new BTS video is something quite epic. The places-all grand sets made after ancient temples and sacred forest landscapes-were where much of the shooting happened. The intimidating size of production is-the impressive action sequences, war choreography, and scenes involving traditions rituals shot with absolute realism.
Thousands were a part of the crew local villagers, technicians, artists, and stunt coordinators. They worked tirelessly through unpredictable weather in remote locations. From mud altars to forest battlegrounds, and from tribal performances to sacred ceremonies, everything you see was real, handcrafted, immersive, and rooted in culture.
Rishab Shetty plays the lead role in the film in a dual role, alongside Jayaram and Rakesh Poojari. The background score is by B. Ajaneesh Loknath and includes traditional sounds by Durgaprasad (Rudraveena), Balasubramani (Nadaswaram), and Kiron (Flute) to deepen this spiritual.
The shooting commenced in the month of Nov 2023, with the first look and teaser being launched shortly afterward.

Hailed as an international release, Kantara Chapter 1 will release worldwide on October 2, 2025, in Kannada, besides the dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, and English.
