The film is directed by Jyothi Krishna and stars Nidhi Agarwal as the female lead. It has been extensively promoted despite his near-involvement due to being recently assumed as Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh during early promotional activities.

The hashtag that caused a stir in Promotions

The promotions of the film took an unexpected turn when the hashtag #BoycottHariharaVeeramallu began trending on social media. The controversy erupted with the grand pre-release event held at Shilpa Kala Vedika, Hyderabad which had many members of both the political and film industries.

“Those with the Prime Minister’s contact will not be having any cash.”

“Let us show our strength. I do not have goons or weapons. You are in my heart.”

These comments almost immediately set political unrest into action and gained traction and momentum behind the boycott from the YSRCP supporters.

The Political Fans Are Annoyed
