Pawan Kalyan about Film Reviewers: The Telugu film industry has seen so many ups and downs over the years. In the past, film reviews used to be in newspapers only. This review was also used to be available in the newspaper after few days after its release. Most of the time, they provide thoughtful insights about the film and also the technicalities of the film. According to the reports, the old pattern of movie reviews has a systematic structure, and over time, this structure has vanished after social media evolved.
Now, social media is flooded with opinions, many of which are unrelated to the actual film. Some individuals post reviews simply to attract attention. In some cases, reviews are published before the film has even completed production. While there are still critics who offer genuine and informed perspectives, the current trend has caused considerable harm to the Telugu film industry. In the recent press meet of Hari Hara Veramallu, actor Pawan Kalyan reacted to this issue.
Pawan Kalyan’s Strong Reaction to Reviews:
During promotions for his upcoming film Harihara Veeramallu, Pawan Kalyan shared his concerns about the state of film criticism. He likened the filmmaking process to a battle, from scripting and production to the final print. He said, “At every stage, we fight countless battles. Amid this struggle, some people kill the film with early reviews and Twitter posts.”

When asked about the growing impact of online criticism, Pawan remarked, “We have to fight even for the food we eat. We must face these challenges too. If I had feared criticism, I wouldn’t have managed to take a party from 0 to 11 seats in an assembly of 151. We have to confront whatever comes our way.”
Producers Also Express Frustration:
Pawan Kalyan is not the only voice in the industry raising concerns about reviews. In the past, several producers have openly criticized the media. Producer Naga Vamsi once stated, “Don’t review my films if you can’t review them properly.” He added that even well-made films are sometimes dismissed with just a one-word review: “Good.”
He also gave an example of Waltair Veerayya, directed by Bobby, which received very less good reviews but still achieved impressive box office collections. According to Vamsi, this proved that reviews alone do not determine a film’s success. Similarly, the film Kannappa faced no significant criticism, reinforcing the argument that audience response can differ greatly from early reviewer opinions.
