Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar shared some insights into Kareena Kapoor Khan’s diet in a recent interview. She said that Kareena has been eating the same foods since 2007. The actress is known for following a healthy and balanced diet. It was Kareena who helped Rujuta publish her first book “Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight” in 2009.

Rujuta explained that Kareena starts her day with a few almonds, raisins or figs. For breakfast, she has either paratha or poha. If Kareena is shooting, she prefers dal chawal. Rice is easy to prepare when on set. If she is at home she eats roti and sabzi. For snacks in the evening, Kareena enjoys cheese toast or a mango milkshake. During mango season, she eats fresh mangoes. At night she has khichdi or pulao. For four to five days a week she eats khichdi with ghee.

Kareena’s diet is simple yet nutritious.


Dietitian Garima Goyal spoke about the benefits of dal chawal and ghee. She called it a wholesome comfort food. Dal chawal is a great source of protein and carbohydrates. The amino acids missing in rice are found in dal. Goyal mentioned that rice is gluten-free, making it easy on the stomach. This meal helps build muscles and boosts metabolism. It’s an ideal choice for anyone looking to stay fit and healthy.

Goyal added that pulses are rich in iron, calcium, vitamin B and lysine. They are also a good source of vitamin C when sprouted. By pairing rice and dal, you get a balanced meal with all essential amino acids. This combination supports the body’s growth and overall health.

To make the meal lighter and easier to digest, Goyal suggested adding tempering with hing (asafoetida) and cumin seeds. These ingredients improve digestion by triggering enzymes and digestive juices. They also help prevent intestinal gas because they are high in fiber.

Overall, Kareena Kapoor’s simple diet shows that healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated. Foods like dal chawal, khichdi, and fresh fruits are not only nutritious but also easy to make. They provide all the essential nutrients your body needs to stay healthy and energized.
