War 2 Trailer: Yash Raj Films (YRF) will make cinematic history on August 14 by releasing War 2, an action movie in Telugu and Hindi, as the first Indian film to screen in a Dolby Cinema in India. Aditya Chopra has produced the action drama as the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe. With War 2, the franchise brings Jr. NTR and Hrithik Roshan together on screen for the first time.
First Dolby Cinema in India:
City Pride Multiplexes opened India’s first Dolby Cinema earlier this month in Kharadi, Pune, offering moviegoers a chance to experience the thrilling new format. The exhibitor plans to expand the premium format to additional markets, including Ulikkal, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Trichy, and Kochi.
Yash Raj Films (YRF) and Dolby have built on their decades-long partnership to consistently push the boundaries of technology in Indian cinema. In 2020, YRF released the “Best of YRF” album as India’s first music label to offer Dolby Atmos Music. The collaboration also includes earlier milestones such as the 1995 blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, one of the first Indian films to feature Dolby Audio, and the 2013 release Dhoom 3, among the first Hindi-language films in Dolby Atmos.
Michael Archer, Vice President of Worldwide Cinema Sales and Partner Management at Dolby Laboratories, said, “We have collaborated with Yash Raj Films for decades and achieved many significant milestones together. With War 2 (Hindi and Telugu), releasing in Dolby Cinemas across India and internationally on August 14, we proudly continue that legacy. This film represents a major milestone for both our partnership and the future of movie-watching in India.”

“YRF has always believed in pushing boundaries to deliver the most enriching cinematic experiences to its audiences,” said Rohan Malhotra, Yash Raj Films’ vice president of distribution. We are still dedicated to crafting stories that not only entertain but also immerse you in the narrative, as evidenced by our adoption of Dolby Audio in the 1990s, our invention of Dolby Atmos in our blockbusters, and our current leadership in Dolby Cinema.
