Indian Railways Alert:
Indian Railways has announced the cancellation of several trains due to technical upgrades and track maintenance. Passengers who plan to travel by train in the coming weeks especially in August and early September should be aware of these changes.
Every day, millions of people travel by train in India and the railway network is a vital part of the country’s transportation system. However, in order to ensure the safety and reliability of services, regular maintenance is necessary. As a result, many trains will be cancelled or temporarily halted on certain dates.
For example, the Hatia–Jharasuguda–Hatia MEMU Express (Train No. 18175/18176) will be cancelled from August 18 to September 10, 2025. Similarly, the Charlapalli–Darbanga Express (Train No. 17007) will not run on August 26 and September 9, while the return train Darbanga–Charlapalli Express (Train No. 17008) will be cancelled on August 29 and September 12.
Other important trains affected include the Visakhapatnam–Banaras Express (Train No. 18523) and Banaras–Visakhapatnam Express (Train No. 18524). These trains will be cancelled on multiple dates throughout August and September, including August 27, 31, and September 7, 10.
Additionally, the Hyderabad–Raxaul Express (Train No. 17005) and Raxaul–Hyderabad Express (Train No. 17006) will be cancelled on August 28 and August 31, respectively.
This list is not exhaustive, and there may be more trains affected in the coming weeks. It is advisable for travelers to check the Indian Railways website or their local stations for the most up-to-date information.
These cancellations are a part of ongoing efforts to improve railway services, and the railway authority urges passengers to plan their journeys accordingly.
