About Pournami: Love, Inheritance, and Dance
In rural Andhra Pradesh in the 1960s, Pournami shows Siva Kesava Naidu (Prabhas) as a dancer who is entrusted with teaching Kuchipudi to Pournami (Trisha), the next in the line to perform a temple’s sacred ritual which goes for seven days. The movie interweaves family honor, unspoken love, and dance. Tradition embarks with drama. Other roles include Charmme Kaur, Sindhu Tolani, and Rahul Dev. Music is by Devi Sri Prasad and dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers halted critics-and yet visuals and soundtracks were celebrated then.
