Sitaare Zameen Par Skips OTT, Streams on YouTube for a Price

Sitaare Zameen Par: RS Prasanna directs Sitaare Zameen Par, with Aamir Khan and Genelia D’Souza playing the lead roles. The film hit theaters on June 20, and the makers will soon stream it online. Instead of releasing it on an OTT platform, they chose to stream it directly on YouTube. The film serves as a spiritual successor to the 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par. Here’s everything you need to know about its digital release.

Sitaare Zameen Par Releasing on YouTube:

Aamir Khan announced at a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday that he would not release Sitaare Zameen Par on any over-the-top (OTT) platforms. He confirmed that the film would stream on YouTube starting August 1, at a price of ₹100 in India. He also said the movie would be available in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Spain with localized pricing for each region. The film will include subtitles and dubs in select major languages.

Explaining his decision, Aamir said, “I have spent the past 15 years trying to solve the problem of reaching audiences who lack access to theaters or cannot go for various reasons. Finally, the right opportunity has come together. With the government’s UPI rollout, India’s leadership in digital payments, growing internet penetration, and YouTube’s widespread accessibility, we now have a way to connect with both large sections of India and a global audience.”
