Stop Eating These with Tea: Many of us drink tea with pleasure. There are even those who drink tea four or five times a day. However, there are some things that should not be consumed with tea or immediately after drinking tea. This can cause health problems. Let’s see what those things are:


 

Things you should not eat after drinking tea

Many people have the habit of drinking tea in the morning. Others drink tea whenever they feel like it, regardless of the time. Tea contains tannin and caffeine. These can cause problems if mixed with certain foods. So, let’s see here which foods should not be eaten while drinking tea, even by mistake.


 

Citrus fruits

It is harmful to eat citrus fruits like lemon and orange with tea. The vitamin C in them, combined with the tannin in tea, leads to digestive problems. Problems like gas and indigestion occur. Drinking lemon juice with tea can cause stomach problems. Fruits should be eaten at least 30 minutes after drinking tea.

 

Turmeric

Turmeric is important in our kitchen. But it should not be taken with tea. The curcumin in turmeric, combined with the tannin in tea, interferes with the absorption of iron. This reduces energy. It causes anemia. It is better to consume turmeric 1-2 hours after drinking tea.

 

Foods high in iron

Foods high in iron (spinach, fenugreek, meat) should not be taken with tea. The tannin in tea interferes with iron absorption. There is a risk of anemia. Vegetarians should be especially careful. Iron-rich foods should be eaten 2 hours after drinking tea.

 

Sweets

Eating biscuits, cakes, and sweets with tea is not good for health. The caffeine and sugar in tea together increase blood sugar levels. There is a risk of diabetes. Samosas and pakodas should also not be eaten with tea. Digestion slows down. Light tiffins like makhana and nuts can be taken with tea.

Dairy products

Dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt should not be taken with tea. The tannin in tea combines with the protein in milk to cause problems like gas and bloating. Ice cream and cold water should also not be taken with tea. They affect body temperature. Dairy products and cold foods should not be taken for 1-2 hours after drinking tea.
