❂ New Zealand Issued a Warning For Unusual Weather:
Strong and erratic sea currents and surges along the coast are the subject of a warning from New Zealand’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). People can drown or be injured by strong currents and surges. Anyone in or around the water near shore, including swimmers, surfers, and fishermen, is at risk, according to NEMA. “People who live in or close to the sea should avoid the following areas: harbors, marinas, rivers, estuaries, and beaches, and shore areas.”
