1. Haldi Doodh

What an old golden drink! Boil a cup of milk with half a teaspoon of turmeric and a pinch of black pepper; sweeten with honey. With anti-inflammatory properties and huge bactericidal effects, this cup of warmth may be a remedy to ease sore throats and nasal congestion.

2. Tulsi-ginger-kadha

Boil tulsi (holy basil) leaves, ginger, black pepper, some cloves in water. Reduce it to half and sip warm. This fabulous kadha acts against cough, cold, sore throat, and imparts good immunity.

This is what grandma would give us during blocked noses and gas. Boil 1 tsp of ajwain in water, strain, and drink warm. You can add jaggery if that is your taste. Clears sinuses and calms the chest.
