“Who Are You?”: Zakir Khan Accidentally Meets BTS in Korea, Doesn’t Recognize Global Superstars

Zakir Khan’s BTS Mix-Up in Korea

Indian comedian Zakir Khan recently shared a hilarious travel story involving K-pop sensations BTS and his total unawareness of their fame. During a chat with ‘The Lallantop’, Zakir recalled meeting the members of BTS while attending an event in Korea, but not recognizing them at all.

“I had gone to Korea to interview a big celebrity,” Zakir explained. “BTS was also there to meet the same person. Because I was late, I ended up in the last group along with them.” While waiting, he casually struck up a conversation with one of the members and asked, “Who are you and where are you from?”

The member responded politely, saying they were from BTS. Zakir, unaware of the group’s global popularity, thought they were simply part of the event’s behind-the-scenes crew. “I thought they were the technical team,” he said. “Later, when I told people I sat with them for 35 minutes, they fainted!”

BTS: Beyond the Stage

All seven members of BTS, Jin, Suga, J‑Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have officially reunited following the completion of their mandatory military service. They kicked off their reunion with a Weverse live event on July 1, 2025, where they confirmed plans to release their first full-group studio album since 2020’s Be. The band will begin recording the new album in the United States from July and aims for a spring 2026 release, with the music reflecting each member’s individual experiences and perspectives. BTS’s first-ever live album, Permission to Dance on Stage – Live, featuring 22 tracks from their 2021–22 tour across Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, is set to drop on July 18, 2025. They also announced a global world tour beginning in spring 2026, marking their first full-group tour since 2022.
