Hyderabad Rain Alert: The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has announced that there is a possibility of heavy rains in several districts of Telangana state in the next two days. To this extent, a yellow alert has been issued for some districts of the state. Officials are warning that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall, especially on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are likely to occur in Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, Suryapet, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Mancherial, Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medchal, Hyderabad, Sircilla and Siddipet districts on Thursday.
Due to the influence of surface depressions and troughs formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal and Rayalaseema, rains lashed many parts of Rayalaseema. Rains were also recorded at several places in the south and north coastal areas. However, the effect of the sun continued in some coastal areas and the maximum temperature in Kavali was recorded at 38 degrees.
Officials say that light to heavy rains are likely to occur in most parts of Rayalaseema and several places in the coastal areas in the next 24 hours. Heavy rains are expected to continue in the coastal and Rayalaseema areas for the next 2-3 days.
Seven mandals across the state received 6-10 centimeters of rainfall from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning. Another 78 mandals received 2-6 centimeters of rain, the Meteorological Center said.
