The actress responded to Mukesh Khanna’s accusation that Sonakshi Sinha’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, was to blame for her failure to respond to a question on the Ramayana during Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2019 with a post. The seasoned actor responded to Sonakshi’s remark in a recent interview, explaining that he had “no malicious intention to malign her or her father, who is my senior, and I have a very cordial relationship with him.”
In an interview with News9, Mukesh Khanna said he was taken aback by Sonakshi Sinha’s lengthy response to his remarks. He said that he understood he may offend her by bringing up the Kaun Banega Crorepati event, but he made it clear that he never meant to disparage her or her father, Shatrughan Sinha, with whom he has a friendly connection.
Mukesh went on to say that he wanted to make a statement against the present generation, sometimes known as “Gen Z,” who he feels are too dependent on technology and whose education is restricted to websites like Wikipedia and YouTube.
He claimed that in order to teach everyone—fathers, sons, and daughters alike—he used Sonakshi’s predicament as an example.
Sonakshi’s father, the veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha also expressed his anger for insulting his daughter. He supported his daughter saying, “Firstly, what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion? She is a daughter any father would be proud to have.” According to the actor, Sonakshi is still a good Hindu even if she chooses not to respond to a question about the Ramayana. She also doesn’t require anyone’s certificate of approval.
