After months of low-profile promotions, the makers of War 2 are finally bringing their two stars together. Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR will share the stage for the first time at a pre-release event in Hyderabad on August 10.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is one of Yash Raj Films’ biggest spy-action projects. But until now, the studio avoided any joint media appearances by the lead actors to maintain the film’s intense on-screen rivalry.
The event, to be held at Yusufguda Police Grounds, is backed by Telugu distributor Naga Vamsi. It will be the film’s first major promotional push in the Telugu states.
Organisers expect a massive turnout, especially from Jr NTR fans. This will be his first major public event since the cancelled Devara pre-release, which was called off last-minute due to safety concerns. This time, tighter security and crowd control measures are in place.
YRF has kept Hrithik and NTR apart not just on press tours but also at private outings. Even when they were spotted at a dinner with Ranbir Kapoor last year, they avoided posing together. The strategy aimed to preserve the tension between their characters until the film hit screens. But with the August 14 release date nearing, the studio is shifting gears.

War 2’s advance bookings are currently steady. The Hyderabad event is expected to spark momentum, especially in South India, where Jr NTR’s presence has major pull. Fans will finally see the two stars together not as rivals, but as co-stars, promoting one of the most anticipated films of the year.
