Atlee Addresses Pushpa 2 vs Baby John Clash: ‘No Conflict’. Around Christmas, Atlee and Varun Dhawan’s mass-action film Baby John will be released in theaters. With its disastrous box office results both in India and elsewhere, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 could pose a serious threat to the movie. Atlee informed the journalists he knew how to manage the situation when they asked him about the upcoming major altercation. He stated that Varun and he received a call from Allu Arjun congratulating them on the teaser.
Atlee said at a press conference in Mumbai, “It’s an ecosystem. Me and Allu Arjun sir are very good friends. We’re releasing Baby John in the fourth week of December, not head-to-head. So don’t call it a clash. There’s no conflict here. We’re aware that Pushpa 2 shifted from August to December, and we’ve planned our release around Christmas. We’re all professionals, and we know how to handle this.”
Regarding Allu Arjun, Atlee disclosed, “He congratulated me about the film and spoke to Varun. There’s great friendship and love in this ecosystem.”
Pushpa 2 is just a few crores away from earning Rs 1000 crore at the domestic box office, having already surpassed the enormous box office receipts of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, Pathaan, and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. After 14 days of its release, the Hindi version of Pushpa 2 in India has crossed the Rs 600-crore milestone, according to trade website Sacnilk.
With important roles played by Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav, Baby John is scheduled for a Christmas release on December 25. It is a re-make of Vijay’s popular movie Theri. Atlee also directed that movie. Jyoti Deshpande, Murad Khetani, and Priya Atlee are the producers of Baby John.
