Chiranjeevi Denies Meeting Film Federation, Says Baseless Claims

Megastar Chiranjeevi denied his involvement in the conflict amid ongoing tensions in the Telugu film industry. He criticised those posing as Film Federation members for making misleading claims that he spoke with the striking employees and guaranteed their demands.

On his official X account, he wrote, “Some individuals claiming to be members of the Film Federation have gone to the media and falsely claimed that I met them. They alleged that I assured them their demands, including a 30% wage hike, would be met and that I would start shooting very soon. I want to set the record straight. I have not met anyone from the federation. This is an industry issue, and no individual, including me, can give unilateral assurances to solve any problem one way or the other.”

He stated that only the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, the highest authority in the Telugu film business, will debate the issues and find a solution.
“It is inappropriate to make such misleading statements before that time. I oppose all irrational and self-serving assertions that attempt to mislead all parties involved. Please take note,” Chiranjeevi firmly declared. Earlier this month, the film chamber issued a stern guideline stating that members of the Telugu Industry Film Employees’ Federation have called for a 30% pay hike.

“We have already been paying both skilled and unskilled workers far more than the current minimum salaries outlined in the statute. Production-related films will suffer significant harm as a result of this interruption. After decades of collaboration with their members, cine chamber denounces the Federation’s move,” the instruction stated. They asked producers to firmly refrain from taking independent action or making separate agreements with unions until the issue is resolved, mentioning that the chamber has been in discussions with the appropriate authorities to find a permanent solution.
