Mrunal Thakur on Bipasha Basu: I Am Far Better

Mrunal Thakur on Bipasha Basu: I Am Far Better

Mrunal Thakur on Bipasha Basu: An old interview clip of Mrunal Thakur has resurfaced online, reigniting discussions on celebrity behavior and accountability. In the video, believed to be from her Kumkum Bhagya days when she worked with Arjit Taneja, Mrunal reportedly made a bold claim, saying she was “far better” than Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu. The clip has since made its way to Reddit, where users are divided in their opinions.

According to several Redditors, the full version of the interview was “far worse” than the viral snippets. One user pointed out that Mrunal didn’t just compare herself to Bipasha but also made personal remarks, allegedly mocking Bipasha’s muscular physique by calling her “manly.” This part of the interview has drawn particular criticism, with many labeling the comments as “mean-spirited” and “unnecessarily personal.”

Mrunal Thakur on Bipasha Basu: Reddit reacts

“She was so mean in Nach Baliye too,” wrote one commenter, suggesting that Mrunal’s on-screen and off-screen behavior during that period was often judgmental and rude. The sentiment was echoed by others who claimed that the actress, despite now portraying a more composed and evolved public image, might still carry the same attitude beneath the surface.

However, not everyone was quick to condemn. Some Reddit users urged others to consider the context and timeline of the comments. “People change, their opinions change,” one user pointed out. “She might’ve been in her early 20s at the time. Give her some slack.” Another added, “If a nepo kid had said the same thing, the outrage would’ve been different,” highlighting the double standards in how the public reacts to controversial statements from different celebrities.

The debate also sparked a broader discussion on the role of growth and redemption in the entertainment industry. While many agreed that the remarks were inappropriate, they also acknowledged that a person’s attitude in their early 20s doesn’t necessarily define who they are today.

As of now, Mrunal Thakur has not responded to the resurfaced clip or the online criticism. Whether this will prompt a statement or be quietly forgotten remains to be seen, but the Reddit buzz shows that fans haven’t forgotten, and they’re watching closely.
