In what has turned out to be a rather emotional discussion with Akshay Oberoi, Janhvi said how she has had to face a tremendous amount of pressure growing up as Sridevi’s daughter. For her part, she distanced herself from her mother’s presence during her debut film Dhadak and believed that it was her “unfair advantage”. A trump card in the industry that she wanted to prove she didn’t rely upon.

Janhvi Kapoor Reveals Struggle

Dulhan Duniya Ka Akshay Oberoi says “We had gone for dinner and I had ordered something and it took them ages to get it to me. When the waiter finally arrived, he apologised to Janhvi instead of me. I told her, ‘It must be pretty nice.

‘I was rather surprised because it wasn’t something I was thinking. An hour later, she came to me and said that she wanted to tell me something. She saw that I felt bad but then told me that there are also waves of being who she is. Something happened that morning and she was reminded by someone, who was going to work with us that day, of how amazing her mother is,’ he said.

Akshay further said, “For three hours, she was beating herself up before she came to the set saying how she would keep up to her mother. So somebody told her, ‘I’ve worked with your mother 44 times, and now I will be working with you. So let’s see what you, Sridevi’s daughter, do today!’ Janhvi told me that it’s hard on both ends. And that hit me like a ton of bricks,”

“Very intelligent and well-read is Janhvi; Kafka and Nietzsche can be discussed with her. She knows and reads them; He states There’s our common misconception about her. But struggle there too-to go in that league for them as well as for us to prove something. From that day onward, I promised myself that I won’t just generalise and say that they have it easy and I have it harder. No way is easy. Everyone has their problems. Sabka struggle alag hai.”
