Vijay and Rashmika: Film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna will lead the 43rd India Day Parade in New York. The two will be co-grand marshals at the event on Madison Avenue on 17th. The theme of the event this year is Sarva Bhavantu Sukhina (May everyone be happy).

The organizers say that they have aimed to call for peace amidst the global political tensions. The event is free from commercial influences and a community participates with pride, said Sourin Pareek, president of the Federation of Indian Associations, which is organizing it.

Vijay and Rashmika to Lead India Day Parade in New York

The program of the 43rd anniversary was announced at the Consulate General of India in New York. Binaya S Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York, who attended the event, praised the organization’s services over a decade. He said that the organization’s role in raising India’s image in the United States is invaluable. The event, which started with a float in 1981, is now one of the largest India Day celebrations in the world. The Federation of Indian Associations is an organization founded in 1970. The organization’s goals are to promote Indian culture, social interaction and India-US relations.

The celebrations will begin on August 15. On that day, the Empire State Building will shine in the tricolor. On the 16th, the Indian flag will be hoisted in Times Square. For the first time in the history of the parade, a cricket match will also be held. The parade will begin on Madison Avenue at 12 noon on the 17th. A rath yatra organized by ISKCON New York will also be held along with this. The celebrations will begin with a program at Cipriani Wall Street.

The main sponsors of the event, Cricmax Connect, said their goal is to bring cricket to the mainstream in the United States within the next year. The Federation of Indian Associations wants to make this a celebration unlike any New York has ever seen.
