Manjima Mohan started her film career as a child star in Malayalam films. Then after a long gap, she made her debut as a heroine again in 2015 with the film ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ written by Vineeth Srinivasan and directed by G. Prajith. Following this, Manjima stepped into Tamil cinema and acted in films like Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, She has faced various criticisms regarding her weight.
Many people have posted negative comments against Manjima on social media. Manjima says that initially, such weight criticism affected her mentally, but now she is fine. In an interview with the YouTube channel ‘Stay Tuned with Ramya’, Manjima said that she had a struggling phase in her life and that the words of some stylists made her insecure.
She continued, “I had PCOD. When I gained a little weight, I thought I was healthy. I had to reduce PCOD. I thought I had to lose weight somehow, I have met doctors to lose weight through surgery. Everyone talks as if weight is the biggest problem. We have to be healthy.
Cinema is my only job. If I lose weight and look different, maybe I will get a few more films. After that, no one will ask how I am. I have other goals that are not related to work,” said Manjima Mohan. Meanwhile, Manjima’s last film was ‘Boo’ directed by A.L. Vijay in 2023. It is a horror film that released in Tamil and Telugu.
