Actor and Bigg Boss fame Gautham Krishna, has been officially confirmed to play the lead role in the upcoming biopic of Murali Nayak, a young Telugu soldier who was martyred during Operation Sindhoor. The announcement was made during a recent film event where the actor expressed his deep sense of responsibility in telling the story of a real-life hero.
“This is not just another role ..it’s an emotion,” said Gautham. “Murali Nayak gave everything for the country. It’s my duty to give my best for his story.”

Murali Nayak’s parents, Mudavat Sriram Nayak and Jyothibai, were present at the announcement. Their son, only 22, lost his life at the Line of Control. Speaking with emotion, they shared how Gautham reminded them of their own son. “We come from a humble background. We lost our child, but we see him again in Gautham,” said his mother, wiping tears. “He speaks like our boy. That’s why we came here, just for this film.”
As part of his tribute, Gautham announced a personal donation of ₹1 lakh to the Nayak family and launched a trust, Samavarthi, through which he plans to contribute half of his future earnings to help families of fallen soldiers. “It’s the least I can do,” he said.
The biopic announcement comes shortly after the release of Gautham’s latest film Solo Boy. Directed by Naveen Kumar and produced by Seven Hills Satish, the film explores the dreams and struggles of middle-class youth. While promoting the film, the team used the platform to honor Murali Nayak’s sacrifice, with his family launching the trailer at a touching event.
