Akhanda 2 is an upcoming film starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role. Directed by Boyapatti Sreenu, fans are expecting this film to be a major milestone in Balakrishna’s career. Akhanda 2’s teaser had attracted attention. It was reported that companies like Amazon Prime Video and Netflix backed out as the makers were demanding close to Rs 100 crore for the OTT rights of Akhanda 2. However, the new report is that Jio Hotstar has acquired the OTT rights of the film.
There are rumors that the film’s release may be postponed to Christmas or Pongal 2026 instead of September 25, 2025 (Prabhas’s The Raja Saab will be released in December). Reports suggest that Akhanda 2 is likely to be delayed as Pawan Kalyan’s De Kool Him OG is also targeting a release on the same date (September 25, 2025). There is no official confirmation yet. Apart from Pragya Jaiswal and Samyuktha, Akhanda 2 stars several prominent actors. It is being produced by Ram Achanta and Gopichand under the banner 14 Reels Plus. Thaman is the music director of this film.
A historical epic film directed by Gopichand Malineni starring Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead has also been announced. The film, tentatively titled ‘NBK111’, is being produced by Venkata Sathish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas. Balakrishna’s 111th film was officially announced ahead of his birthday, which was celebrated on June 10. This is the film where the Nandamuri Balakrishna-Gopichand Malineni team comes together after the blockbuster film ‘Veerasimha Reddy’. ‘NBK111’ is a big budget film produced by Venkata Sathish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas along with the pan-Indian film ‘Peddi‘.
The announcement poster featured a fierce image of an enraged lion. Half of its face is covered with a metal shield. The rest of its face is open and remains wild. The image in the poster symbolizes the intense dual nature and wild power of the character that Balakrishna is going to portray in this film.
