Parental Controls on Blinkit: Quick-commerce service Blinkit app has now brought new parental controls to its users. Through this feature, users can go to their profile and set a PIN to hide sensitive products. In case the PIN is forgotten, a phone number can be set for recovery. Through this, even if children in your house use the Blinkit app, they will not see products related to adults only.
1. Activation in Profile Settings – Users need to go to their profile section and turn on the parental control option.
2. Setting a PIN – As users set their PIN, it acts as a key to access sensitive products.
3. Hiding sensitive products – Once a PIN is set, sensitive or age-inappropriate products identified by Blinkit will not appear in normal browsing. You must enter the PIN before you can view or purchase them.
4. Recovery Phone Number – Users also have the option to set a recovery phone number to regain access if they forget their PIN.
Based on feedback from parents, the Blinkit app has introduced a parental control feature. While many families use the Blinkit app to buy everyday essentials, there are situations where children also use the app. However, parents are concerned when they see adult-related items like condoms while looking at chocolates or toys.
Deepinder Goyal also responded to this issue. He called it a “very personal and important issue.” He also agreed that a special solution was needed to prevent children from seeing adult products unnecessarily. It is in this context that the Blinkit app parental control feature was introduced.
The new feature introduced by Blinkit is definitely a step towards protecting users. With this new move, Blinkit has made the app more secure for family users. Now parents can control children’s access through a PIN system. There are also expectations that a more user-friendly user interface and educational information will be added to the app in the future.
