An anonymous account named Gurumi Haribo leaked the photo online. Neither V nor Jennie confirmed its authenticity, but it stirred both fanbases at the time.

Adding more fuel to the fire, netizens noticed that Jennie had recently used the same emoji in one of her captions for a London event that also appeared in BTS V’s post. While the emoji is commonly used, fans believe it’s too specific to be a coincidence especially given the history of visual clues between the two stars.

Rumours began in late 2021 when BTS V appeared to accidentally follow Jennie on Instagram.
In 2022, leaked images suggested they visited Jeju Island together and spent time in personal settings.
Neither YG Entertainment nor BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the photos, maintaining silence or stating the artists’ privacy should be respected.
In 2023, the two were allegedly spotted on a quiet walk in Paris.
Their agencies again chose not to confirm or deny the rumours, calling it a private matter.
Reports also claimed the two split shortly before V’s enlistment in December 2023.
