AR Murugadoss on Sivakarthikeyan: Madharaasi cannot even take place before September 5, 2025, and the aura surrounding Sivakarthikeyan is almost surreal as the mass release becomes more of a reality. The film is a collaboration between AR Murugadoss and a stellar cast, meanwhile gaining attention with chart-topping singles. But really causing hullabaloo was the audacious comparison by Murugadoss of SK with some stalwarts of Tamil cinema-Vijay and Ajith.
The Ghajini director praised Sivakarthikeyan for backing debutant directors when most of the established stars choose to play safer cards. He commented upon the instances of Vijay and Ajith, whose initial forays with budding names have helped them immensely along their journey. ‘Believing in young filmmakers isn’t easy,’ says Murugadoss; ‘but Sivakarthikeyan does it with confidence, and that’s a big reason that he’s growing fast.’
SK fans give a quick volley of support for this assertion. They see him as one who walks that fine line between risk and safety — ushering in new voices while always ensuring rock-solid commercial success. It is this palpable balance that keeps his acceptability at the pinnacle and distinguishes him from younger contemporaries.
Although tight-lipped about the storyline, one hears rumors that Madharaasi is set in North India and may revolve around a man at a crossroads in life. Expectations must be sky-high especially since Anirudh Ravichander’s chart-topping music is already creating waves, busy mostly with the single “Vazhiyiraen.” The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, and Biju Menon; add that to a great cast.

The aura on Sivakarthikeyan does not really stop at that. After Madharaasi, he will be working with Sudha Kongara in another venture called Parasakthi based on the 1960s anti-Hindi agitation. With projects of such stature lined up before him-and as endorsed by a great filmmaker in Murugadoss-SK’s acceleration seems to be in turbo. Like Vijay and Ajith, it seems superstardom for him was built on a foundation of trust, relatability, and risk.
