Composer duo Sachin-Jigar are known for mixing madness with melody, from high-energy dance tracks to soulful love songs. But with Param Sundari, they have gone deeper, crafting an album that feels more like a heartfelt thank-you note to the man who shaped their musical journey: A.R. Rahman.


Speaking to From the moment they began working on the album, the idea was not just to make hits it was to honour a legacy. Roja (1992), Rahman’s breakout soundtrack, was a turning point for Sachin. He says it changed his life, and if not for those early Rahman albums, he might never have become a composer. That emotion runs through every beat of Param Sundari.

‘Param Sundari ‘ – Why It Feels Familiar

Some listeners have pointed out that the music of Param Sundari feels reminiscent of Rahman’s style. But that’s not coincidence it i’s by design. Jigar explains that this familiarity is part of the tribute. The duo we are not trying to copy Rahman, but rather capture the essence that inspired the, the classical roots blended with experimental sounds, depth paired with joy.


Jigar, trained in classical music for over a decade, says Rahman taught him how to “unlearn” formal training and embrace cinema’s emotion-driven unpredictability. That spirit breathes life into Param Sundari.

A Dream Come True With Sonu Nigam

Speaking to the media house the duo said that adding to the nostalgia is the voice of Sonu Nigam. A childhood idol for both composers, Sonu recorded the album’s viral title track in just 30 minutes. For Sachin-Jigar, having Sonu sing their tribute to Rahman created a full-circle moment paying homage to two musical heroes in one track.

A Team That Thrives on Passion

Working closely with frequent collaborators like Dinesh Vijan and lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sachin-Jigar pushed creative boundaries on Param Sundari. They said grounded by a shared respect for musical excellence. This freedom to create without fear, they say, is what allowed the album to evolve into more than just a playlist it became a tribute with soul.
