September Holidays: After the summer vacations, students had to wait for almost two months to see when the holidays would come. Schools started in June and ran continuously till the end of July. There were only one or two holidays in between, on Sundays. But that was not the case in August. There were consecutive holidays due to festivals, holidays, special days, and heavy rains. However, this series of holidays will continue in the next month of September as well. In other words, there will be holidays beyond August.
There will be almost half of the days in September as holidays. The holidays that start in the first week will continue till the last week. Out of the 30 days, schools will be open for only 16 days, The remaining 14 days are holidays. Let’s find out why each day in September is a holiday here.
Along with Telangana, Andhra Pradesh has a large Muslim population. Due to this, the governments give official holidays for the festivals celebrated by them. Both the states have already declared a holiday on Friday, September 5, on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, a very sacred festival celebrated by Muslims. Not only schools but also offices are closed today. The fact that this holiday falls on a weekend is something that not only students but also working parents will enjoy.
Saturday is a holiday for employees working in software and corporate companies. In cities with a large number of IT employees like Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, some educational institutions give a holiday every Saturday. This holiday is given so that the children of IT employees can spend time with their parents. So, students studying in such schools get a holiday for three consecutive days (including Sunday).
September 7 is Sunday, so that day is a general holiday for educational institutions anyway. Except for employees working in some essential departments, everyone else will have a Sunday holiday. Thus, in the first week of September, some people are getting three consecutive days off, while others are getting two days off.
September 13th is the second Saturday, so that day is a holiday for all government, aided, and private educational institutions. September 14th is a Sunday, so it will be a general holiday. Thus, there are two consecutive holidays in the second week of September.
The last ten days of September will be completed with Dussehra holidays. In Telangana, however, Dussehra holidays are starting from September 2, So the last ten days of this month are holidays. In Andhra Pradesh, Dussehra holidays have been given from September 24. This means that the Dussehra holidays for AP students will be slightly shorter than Telangana.
Thus, the holidays that begin with Milad-un-Nabi in September will continue until Dussehra. In total, there are 14 days of holidays this month… If there are heavy rains or any bandhs, the number of these holidays is likely to increase further.
Not only students but also employees are getting a series of holidays in September. In Telangana, September 5 is Miladun Nabi, September 21 is the first day of Bathukamma, and there are regular holidays. Employees have an optional holiday on September 30 on the occasion of Durgashtami. When it comes to AP, Miladun Nabi and Durgashtami holidays apply.
September 21 is an optional holiday for Bathukamma in Telangana, and Mahalaya Amavasya in AP. But since that day is Sunday, there will be a regular holiday.
