The actress revealed that Kamal Haasan once fell in love with Bengali actress Aparna Sen. And, to impress her he even learned the Bengali language!

Sathyaraj had praised Shruti for being multilingual, noting that Kamal Haasan had also learned Bengali for a film. However, Shruti added a surprising twist, saying, “He didn’t learn it for films. He learned it because he was in love with Aparna Sen.”
Shruti also pointed out Aparna Sen’s influence on her father’s film career, especially in Hey Ram, where Rani Mukerji’s character was named after the actress.
