Four Malayalam Movies Set to Release for Onam

Onam 2025: This August, four much-anticipated films are gearing up to hit theatres across Kerala during the Onam celebrations. Here’s the line-up:

⦿ Thursday Releases (August 28, 2025)

1. Hridayapoorvam:
It is a Family drama with a strong emotional core, penned by Sonu TP with a story by Akhil Sathyan. This film features Mohanlal, Malavika Mohanan, Lalu Alex, Baburaj, and Sabitha Anand. Director Sathyan Anthikad has crafted this film with complete passion. This film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner. The music is composed by Justin Prabhakaran

2. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen’s Malayalam superhero cinematic universe; Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the lead superhero. This is the first time a film has been made in the Malayalam Industry. This film is directed and written by Dominic Arun. The film is produced by Dulquer Salmaan under the Wayfarer Films banner.

3. Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira
Kalyani Priyadarshan’s other Onam release is Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, which is going to feature Fahadh Faasil, Mohan Lal, Vinay Forrt, and also Kalyani Priyadarshan. The film is directed by Althaf Salim. This is a light-hearted, family-friendly entertainer marking Althaf Salim’s directorial comeback.

4. Maine Pyar Kiya
Debut director and writer Faizal Faziludeen’s Maine Pyar Kiya is a Romantic comedy thriller, and is going to introduce fresh faces to the industry. This film is going to introduce Hridhu Haroon and Preity Mukundhan. The film is produced by Sanju Unnithan under the Spire Productions banner.
