Celebrating 25 Years of ‘Gilmore Girls’ with a New Documentary

Gilmore Girls fans, get ready to revisit the beloved world of Stars Hollow! A new documentary, Searching for Stars Hollow, is in production to mark the 25th anniversary of the show this October. The series, which first premiered on October 5, 2000, captured the lives of single mother Lorelai Gilmore (played by Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (played by Alexis Bledel) in their quirky, small-town world. The show ran for seven seasons, becoming a cult classic that still holds a special place in viewers’ hearts.


A Look Back at the Show’s Cultural Impact

The documentary, produced by Ink On Paper Studios, will dive deep into the show’s influence on American culture. Searching for Stars Hollow promises a fresh perspective with exclusive interviews from key cast members, including Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester), and Chad Michael Murray (Tristan Dugray).

The project will also feature never-before-seen interviews with other stars like Keiko Agena, Sally Struthers, and Liz Torres, along with behind-the-scenes insights from crew members, writers, and directors. Fans can look forward to discovering new stories about their favorite characters and the making of the show.

Alongside the core cast, Searching for Stars Hollow will include interviews with actors like Emily Kuroda, Rose Abdoo, and Matt Jones, as well as director Jamie Babbit, writer Stan Zimmerman, and casting directors Jami Rudofsky and Mara Casey. The documentary will also feature Kevin T. Porter, known for hosting the Gilmore Guys podcast, who will discuss the show’s enduring legacy.

Searching for Stars Hollow is being directed by Meghna Balakumar and Kevin Konrad Hanna, with Adam F. Goldberg executive producing and Jim Demonakos producing.
