Hridayapoorvam Review: Coming back to silver screen after the success of Thudarum, Mohanlal this time has with him the veteran Sathyan Anthikad as the director of Hridayapoorvam. This is the couple’s 20th film together – a partnership that has lasted over four decades and has seen into twenty films together. Produced under Aashirvad Cinemas by Antony Perumbavoor, the movie evinces instant expectations as it promises a new take on emotions and relationships.
Sandeep, played by Mohanlal, is a heart-transplant survivor and the story does not unfold in the typical Kerala backdrop but in Pune. He visits the house to attend his donor’s daughter Haritha’s engagement. But then things take a turn, resulting in him living with the family and eventually falling in love with them. Heart-wrenching is the part where Sandeep finds love in Haritha, played by Malavika Mohanan. Among the themes one can see love, gratitude, and second chances running high throughout the film.
Hridayapoorvam brings together the magical combination of Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad for a story rooted in emotions and second chances. It’s the tale of a life that survives the heart transplant, and bonds with the family of his donor, to eventually fall in love. Mohanlal gives a most touching performance in the company of the equally impressive Malavika Mohanan and a really strong ensemble. Onen and Sathyan do wonders in melding warmth with humor and a little subtle drama, while the musical compositions of Justin Prabhakaran and the visuals of Anu Moothedath go to add depth to that experience. While there are moments of failure to seem fresh, the predictability and cheerfully earnest tone of the story make it very comforting for the family to have with them.
Mohanlal’s effortless performance gives Sandeep emotional conflict

Rich in narrative, strong support include Siddique, Baburaj, Lalu Alex, and Janardhanan.
