Fans of Alice in Borderland know that the manga wrapped up where Season 2 left off. With Arisu and Usagi waking up in the real world after a near-death experience, many believed their journey was complete. But Netflix has other plans. Season 3, dropping September 25, 2025, promises to dive deeper into the Borderland even if the manga source material is finished.
The teaser, released in July, shows Arisu and Usagi enjoying a peaceful life post-Borderland until it all falls apart. Usagi vanishes without a trace, lured by a mysterious man named Ryuji obsessed with the afterlife. Arisu soon receives a Joker card from Banda, signaling his return to the deadly world he thought he left behind.
Unlike previous games, the Joker isn’t just about staying alive it may determine who truly returns to reality and who stays trapped forever. Netflix hints that this new phase will explore psychological warfare, emotional trauma, and moral choices rather than just physical games.
While Kento Yamazaki (Arisu) and Tao Tsuchiya (Usagi) are confirmed to return, fans are questioning the absence of social media posts from cast members like Aya Asahina (Kuina) or Riisa Naka (Heiya). Given their popularity, it’s likely they’ll return, but Netflix is keeping things quiet possibly to avoid spoilers.

Many fans felt Season 2 relied too heavily on plot armor, with the “citizens vs. players” setup falling flat. However, Season 3 may shift focus to introspection and the mysteries of the afterlife.
