Kamalinee Mukherjee: The Telugu states’ viewers have not caught Kamalinee Mukherjee on the big screen in years. The actress, who was popular there in the early 2000s, disappeared following the release of Govindudu Andarivadele (2014), which featured Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal. Kamalinee explained on the D-Talks podcast that she quit Telugu cinema because she was “hurt” by how her role was handled in the film.
Kamalinee Mukherjee Statement on Tollywood:
Kamalinee asserted that shooting for Govindudu Andarivadele felt “amazing,” yet she still felt “out of place.” She clarified, “Not because of the crew, since everyone on set, including my co-actors, was kind and supportive. I just didn’t feel happy with how my role turned out. So, there was nothing controversial or any fight. I simply stopped watching Telugu films for some time because I felt hurt. The way my role shaped up upset me.”

But Kamalinee said she doesn’t “hold a grudge” against anyone. She explained, “Sometimes you feel like this is your scene. The irony is that the director later sees it differently, and it doesn’t turn out the way you wanted or doesn’t have the same impact when you watch it again. They also don’t reveal those things to us. I personally felt hurt by that. So, I decided to take a break from Telugu movies and try films in other languages.”
