Chris Pratt won’t be stepping into the Batcave anytime soon. DC Studios co-head James Gunn has confirmed that while he loves working with the Guardians of the Galaxy star, Pratt won’t be playing Batman in the upcoming DCU reboot. Speaking with a Media house, Gunn said, “As Batman? No. As something else? Yes.” He added, “I would love for him to do something at DC, but I would have to think about what character.”
With The Brave and the Bold set to introduce a new Dark Knight, fans are eager to know who will don the cowl. Two names getting serious attention are The Boys star Jensen Ackles and Reacher actor Alan Ritchson. Ackles, 47, said he’d love the chance but admitted the pressure would be intense. “You talk about not wanting to fumble the football that’s one I would be nervous as hell to carry. But proud, too,” he told Collider.
Alan Ritchson seems more than ready. In an interview, he joked, “Would I play Batman? Yes. Would I pay to be Batman? Yes. You wouldn’t even have to pay me.” He even gave fans a taste of his Batman voice, saying, “Gotham is mine.”

Robert Pattinson will return as Batman in The Batman: Part II, but that version exists in DC’s Elseworlds, a separate universe from the main timeline. Gunn confirmed Pattinson’s Batman won’t appear in The Brave and the Bold, although he didn’t completely rule out a future crossover. “The actor for Batman in the DCU doesn’t exist yet,” Gunn said. For now, fans will have to keep guessing who will become Gotham’s next protector.
