Bus Conductor Fight: A startling occurrence from Bengaluru, Karnataka, has surfaced. A conductor is accused of verbally and physically abusing a commuter from the Northeast who was traveling from Devanahalli to Majestic on a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus (registered KA-57 F-4029) because of a ticket dispute.
A video that shows the commuter addressing the conductor has gone viral on social media. The young man who didn’t know Kannada reportedly got on the bus and waited for the conductor to give him a ticket, but the conductor reportedly didn’t come up to him. The passenger was fined ₹420 for traveling without a valid ticket when a checking squad subsequently boarded the bus. The conductor allegedly slapped the commuter during the ensuing heated dispute.

The man says that because he doesn’t take the bus very often, he didn’t know that he had to go up to the conductor and buy a ticket. In Hindi, the man in the video addresses the conductor and requests, “Sir, aapka naam bata dijiye, police station ja raha hoon,” which roughly translates to, “Tell me your name; I am going to the police station.”

In Kannada, the conductor answers. “Aapne maara kaise mujhe?” the man then queries. “How could you hit me?” is what it means. In Kannada, the conductor keeps talking. “Language pe mat aaiye sir,” the man responds, “this is India, you are Indian.” He may be heard requesting his name from the conductor on several occasions. After that, the man yells at the conductor, who then walks away. The man also said that his face was scarred by the attack. The victim himself uploaded the footage to X. He is a musician who created his X account, “HR SINGS,” in the hope of getting justice, according to the account.
