Sara, Ananya, Janhvi: Who’s Built the Strongest Filmography

Sara, Ananya, Janhvi: Who’s Built the Strongest Filmography

In the ever-competitive world of Bollywood’s Gen Z actresses, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, and Janhvi Kapoor are often grouped together, three industry-backed star kids who debuted around the same time. But despite similar starts, their career graphs have taken very different shapes.

Track Record So Far: Janhvi Kapoor Leads?

Sara Ali Khan arguably has the strongest track record in terms of successful projects. From a solid debut in Kedarnath to commercial hits like Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Atrangi Re, she’s shown versatility, even if not always consistently. Metro In Dino added another decent notch to her filmography. Her cameo in Simmba also kept her visible in a Rohit Shetty blockbuster.

Ananya Panday, often underestimated, has carved out a more stable mainstream presence than expected. Pati Patni Aur Woh and Gehraiyaan (despite its mixed reviews) showed growth, while Kho Gaye Hum Kahan garnered appreciation for a more mature role. She’s also got a surprising number of upcoming projects, including a Maddock film, Tu Meri Main Tera, Call Me Bae S2, and at least three more Dharma collaborations, proof of her strong industry networking.

Janhvi Kapoor remains a curious case. While Dhadak was a commercial success, many still debate the strength of her performance. Since then, films like Good Luck Jerry and Mili showcased effort, but didn’t make major waves. Her role in Mr. & Mrs. Mahi (Param Sundari) has kept her in conversation. She’s lined up for Atlee’s pan-India film and has several high-profile releases, including one with Ram Charan.

PR, Perception & Meme Culture

Sara suffers from a PR paradox, despite a better filmography, her public perception is shaky. While Ananya’s missteps (Liger, Khaali Peeli) are often forgotten, Sara’s two over-the-top moments in Love Aaj Kal 2 and Murder Mubarak continue to haunt her via memes. Her better performances, in Atrangi Re, Metro In Dino, or even Kedarnath — often go underappreciated.

Ironically, when Sara is good, she often outshines the rest. But when she’s bad, it’s memorable for the wrong reasons.
