S.S. Rajamouli: Renowned director S.S. Rajamouli is currently filming the highly anticipated movie SSMB 29 in Africa. Kenya’s Cabinet Minister for Foreign Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, recently met him. The minister shared pictures from the gathering on social media, showing Rajamouli, his son SS Karthikeya, and other ministry representatives. Reports state that they discussed Rajamouli’s decision to use Africa as the primary filming location, the scope of the project, and the film’s historic release schedule in 120 countries worldwide.

On X, Minister Mudavadi expressed his admiration for the RRR and Baahubali director. He stated, “Kenya was the stage for one of the world’s greatest filmmakers, SS Rajamouli, the visionary Indian director, screenwriter, and storyteller whose works have captured the imagination of audiences across continents.”

He highlighted Rajamouli’s history, saying, ‘Throughout his two-decade career, Rajamouli has woven dramatic stories, stunning visuals, and deep cultural resonance.’ He explained that Rajamouli’s 120-person crew searched across East Africa and finally chose Kenya, where they are filming nearly 95% of the African portions.

The minister said he felt happy to see Kenya at the forefront of such a significant film endeavor. Mudavadi stated, ‘From the wide-open plains of the Masai Mara to the beautiful Naivasha, the rough Samburu, and the famous Amboseli, Kenya’s landscapes now form part of what will be the biggest film production in Asia.’ He confirmed that SSMB 29 will release in over 120 countries and described it as a ‘cinematic milestone’ and a ‘powerful statement about Kenya’s beauty and hospitality.’
