1. Kabir Singh (2019)

Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh was inspired by the Telugu juggernaut Arjun Reddy. This intense love saga with a morally wrong hero connected very well with the audience, which made it one of the most successful Hindi films of the year 2019.


2. Wanted (2009)

He starred in Wanted after he had a string of flops. The film was an adaptation of Pokiri, a Telugu film starring Mahesh Babu. Murdered by high-octane action and masala entertainment, this film opened doors to the new larger-than-life era of Bollywood action.

3. Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)

The horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa stars Akshay Kumar and is a remake of the Malayalam classic Manichitrathazhu. The mixing of comedy with suspense and the supernatural makes Bhool Bhulaiyaa one of the most loved remakes in Bollywood.

4. Singham (2011)

Ajay Devgn starred in Rohit Shetty’s Singham, a Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster of the same name starring Suriya. The film established Ajay Devgn’s mass-hero image with rich dialogues and action-packed sequences.

5. Rowdy Rathore (2012)

Another one starring Akshay Kumar, this one was a madhouse of entertainment as he played a double role on a remake of Ravi Teja’s Telugu hit Vikramarkudu, all credit goes to the sheer brilliance of Prabhu Deva’s direction.

6. Drishyam (2015)

Ajay Devgn starred in Drishyam, the remake of a Malayalam classic featuring Mohanlal. The film became a cult success with a gripping script and stellar performances and even managed to have a successful sequel.

7. Bodyguard (2011)

The Bodyguard was a Hindi adaptation of Dileep’s Malayalam original, starring Salman Khan. A bit of romance and action were added into Khan’s aura which made it into a colossal blockbuster.
