Case on Pawan Kalyan: Pawan Kalyan, who made his name as a star hero in Tollywood, has been balancing two roles, acting as a hero on one hand and serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on the other. His film Harihara Veeramallu was released on July 24. As part of its promotions, Pawan Kalyan allegedly used his authority to increase ticket prices. Former IAS officer Vijay Kumar filed a case in the High Court, accusing him of misusing his power.
A Huge Relief for Pawan Kalyan:
The High Court, however, made key observations. It clarified that there is no restriction on ministers, including the Chief Minister, from acting in films. The Court recalled a similar verdict it had given earlier in the case of former CM and film actor NTR. Justice Venkata Jyoti gave this verdict on the petition alleging abuse of power. The next hearing has been postponed to the 15th of this month. For now, the case brings huge relief to Pawan Kalyan.

Petition Filed in High Court against Pawan Kalyan:
Former IAS and Liberation Congress Party President GSRKR Vijay Kumar filed a petition, alleging that Pawan Kalyan promoted Harihara Veeramallu using government funds. He argued that as a minister, it was inappropriate for him to focus on ticket prices and film promotions for profit. He further alleged that Pawan himself processed the file related to ticket prices, despite it not being under his department. Vijay Kumar claimed this amounted to abuse of power.
Accusations of Abuse of Power:
He also pointed out that despite government resources being misused, agencies like the ACB, DG, and CS took no action. No one demanded Pawan Kalyan’s removal from the ministry, which is why he approached the High Court. He further sought a CBI probe into the matter. The hearing on this petition was held today, and the next hearing is scheduled for the 15th of this month. Meanwhile, the issue is going viral on social media.
