On Saturday, 28th December at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia young Telugu cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy got to his first maiden century off 171 balls, bringing down India’s trail to 116 runs at Stumps on Day 3.

Nitish Reddy displayed remarkable resilience in the first innings of the Melbourne Test, scoring 114 runs off 189 balls with 11 boundaries and one six when needed . He was eventually dismissed as the last wicket, but his performance solidified his position as a promising talent in Indian cricket. Nitish Kumar also received a standing ovation from the MCG crowd, which is a rare thing in Australia.
