Rajinikanth – Kamal Movie: Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently one of the most sought-after directors in the Tamil film industry. Actors from other languages have also expressed interest in working with him. However, the situation seems to have changed after the setback of Coolie. The Rajinikanth-starrer carried huge expectations but failed to meet them. Following this, reports suggest that Lokesh was sidelined from a big project.

Rajinikanth – Kamal Movie Update: 

After nearly 35 years, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth are set to reunite on screen. Kamal himself announced this at the recent SIIMA Awards. Soon after, rumors spread that Lokesh Kanagaraj would direct the film, and many believed it to be true. But when Rajinikanth was asked about it at the airport, he confirmed that while he will indeed be doing a film with Kamal, neither the story nor the director has been finalized yet.

While some Tamil cinema fans are disappointed that Lokesh is not directing the project, others are relieved. The reason is Kaithi, one of Lokesh’s most acclaimed films, whose sequel has been eagerly awaited. Fans believe that if Lokesh directed the Kamal-Rajini film, Kaithi 2 would be delayed further. Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing on social media about which director will take charge of this multi-starrer.

Currently, Lokesh Kanagaraj is acting in a film directed by Arun Matheswaran. Once the shooting is completed, he is expected to begin work on Kaithi 2 early next year. This has raised the question, was Lokesh dropped from the Kamal-Rajini project because of Coolie’s result, or was he never in consideration?
