The production house has released a statement in which it claims that both sides, because of varying opinions and paths on and for the long journey of making the first film, could never align properly for an actual long-term working relationship that a franchise of this magnitude deserves. The makers wished her all the best for her upcoming films, thus officially closing her chapter with the series.
Deepika’s presence lent immense emotional weight to the story in the first part, walking that fine edge between futuristic sci-fi visuals and mythological depth. Her exit leaves a major void, and fans are obviously curious to learn which actress is going to fill in the shoes for the sequel.
