Amit Trivedi Reacts To Plagiarism Allegations Made On Him

Amit Trivedi Reacts To Plagiarism Allegations Made On Him. In a recent interview, music composer Amit Trivedi discussed how plagiarism allegations were made against him. The title song from the Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh’s movie Lootera was lifted from the English movie One Day.

One of Bollywood’s most renowned composers, Amit Trivedi is renowned for creating unique and inventive Bollywood songs. He recently recalls being accused of stealing the theme tune from Anne Hathaway’s One Day for Ranveer Singh’s Lootera. He sent an email outlining the circumstances to Rachel Portman, the original track’s composer.

Amit Trivedi Reacts To Plagiarism Allegations

Amit Trivedi recalls the day he wrote the title song for Lootera in a recent conversation with Raj Shamani. He revealed that he was unable to understand why he was being dubbed a thief by internet users as soon as the theme tune was made public.

“Jab lootera ka theme bahar nikla, maine pehle baar comments padha, aur niche mujhe chor chor chor chor, maine kaha hain? Yeh, kya chor, sab chor kyu bolne lag gaye, copy thief, mere ko bhi yeh sawaal aya, why are they calling me a thief? What’s wrong with me?” (When the Lootera theme was released, people flooded the comments with ‘chor, chor,’ calling me a thief. I was shocked.)

The music composer acknowledged that he had never heard of Rachel Portman or the movie One Day. But because he always valued and appreciated the opinions of listeners. So he looked into it further right away and heard Portman’s composition, recognizing the similarity. It was an accidental coincidence, Trivedi said, and he would never consider stealing someone else’s work.

It’s interesting to note that he didn’t intend for the theme to be the main focus. The film’s director, Vikramaditya Motwane, proposed utilizing the song as the theme after it was first used as a filler in the other song, Shikayatein. He was aware, nevertheless, that it would be challenging to defend the position and avoid criticism.
