Fans who have been eager to see this icon of Indian cinema return to film have had their hopes rekindled again.
Set the standard for thrillers in Indian cinema; the first was 2013’s a game-changer with an arresting narrative. Drishyam 2, released directly on OTT in 2021, further proved that such continuations could emulate or better their predecessors. Both did remarkably well they’d become box-office hits in Malayalam and inspired remakes in numerous languages, viz., Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, with increasing expectations with Drishyam 3 being nothing less.
While the makers are sealing the plot closely, there seems to be suspense-inflected anticipation around yet another one of those thrill-packed rounds where Georgekutty will battle to protect his family against odds. Unpredictable turns and emotionality have defined the franchises. And audiences are excited to see how Jeethu Joseph carries it forward from the shocking revelations in Drishyam 2.
The film also stars Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil as members of Georgekutty’s family. The pooja images seem, so clearly, that filming would progress on very grand scales, and on the road, these could be touted as one of the grandest Malayalam releases. The pooja pictures suggest this is a work in progress and likely available in late 2025 or early 2026.
