“Forgotten Hero” No More: Rajat Bedi Stages Fiery Comeback in Aryan Khan’s Bold OTT Debut!

The Man Who Made a Comeback With “The B***ards of Bollywood”?

After years away from the limelight, actor Rajat Bedi is back and making noise. Best remembered for his role in “Koi… Mil Gaya”, Rajat has rediscovered fame through Aryan Khan’s gritty directorial debut, The B***ards of Bollywood*. The show features Rajat as Jaraj Saxena, a washed-up actor everyone vaguely remembers but no one quite places a role that feels eerily familiar, and possibly inspired by Rajat’s own Bollywood journey.

Rajat Bedi – “Used, Abused and Left Behind”

Speaking at the Khajuraho International Film Festival (KIFF), Rajat opened up about personal and professional setbacks. “I’ve been used, abused and left behind especially in my work,” he said. After moving to Canada and working as a real estate developer, Rajat faced betrayal in business partnerships, which eventually pushed him back to India.

In Bollywood too, he didn’t always get his due. “Koi Mil Gaya became a blockbuster, but only Hrithik, Preity and Rakesh ji were promoted. I was left out. Still, people remember me for that role. That’s something no one can take away from me.”

OTT: A New Chapter

Rajat’s role in Aryan Khan’s series, along with another upcoming OTT project, marks his return to the screen after nearly 16 years. “This is the daddy of all Bollywood projects. I was specially called for these because of my past work,” he said. He credits OTT for giving forgotten actors like him a second chance.

A Legacy in the Making

Rajat comes from film royalty. His grandfather was the renowned writer Rajinder Singh Bedi, and his father, Narendra Bedi, directed classics like Jawani Diwani and Benaam. His sister wrote Agneepath (2012) and is currently scripting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Now, Rajat says, it’s his son’s turn. “He’s 22 and better looking than me,” he laughed. “The fourth generation is ready.”
