National Award Winners 2025: At the 71st National Cinema Awards on September 23, 2025, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was given the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023 in recognition of his legendary contributions to the cinema industry. Everybody in the hall stood and applauded the actor out of respect. Additionally, Shah Rukh Khan was spotted applauding for Mohanlal.

In his sincere victory speech, veteran actor Mohanlal thanked everyone for their support and conveyed his gratitude. He stated, “As a representative of the Malayalam industry, the youngest and only second award winner from the state, I feel this moment is not mine alone; it belongs to the entire Malayalam fraternity,” as the youngest recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. It is, in my opinion, a legacy of our shared inventiveness. I was incredibly moved by the honor and privilege of being selected to continue the voice of our cinematic heritage when I learned of the center’s decision.
