Recently, a post on Reddit generated a lot of buzz among Sai Pallavi fans, stating that the actress said she “only listens to Bhajans,” while she was following pop stars like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. The tweet fueled debate online, read what the actress said, whether she must be contradicted. However, the account is clearly a case of misinformation and the situation is quite misleading.
The misunderstanding started, in an interview Sai Pallavi did with Pearle Maney, in which she was asked to sing a song. Sai Pallavi began by saying she doesn’t know how to sing, but then followed with, “I only sing Bhajans.” She went on to clarify that she was not formally trained in singing and, if she could pick, she would sing devotional songs when they were inspired to sing. And in a joking fashion, added “Sai Pallavi can dance but not sing.” Sai had a very clear point, that singing was limited to song for her, not that her preference to listen only to Bhajans was exclusively true.

The actress never claimed that her personal playlist consists only of Bhajans, but rather merely recited her limited experiences of singing
The misconception demonstrates how a slight misquote or lack of clarity can snowball on the internet. Sai Pallavi’s comments were limited to singing, not listening. Following pop artists from her social media account is completely consistent with her enjoying an array of music in her own time while still choosing to only sing Bhajans for public events or for leisure enjoyment.
